It is a colorless, clear, volatile liquid with high wet absorption potential and it has a special odor; it can be mixed with water, ether, and chloroform. Absolute alcohol contains volume percent of 99/4-100 or weight volume of 99-100 of ethanol, it easily burns and produces blue flames.

Ethanol 99.6%

This substance is resulted from the purification process of 95%-96.5% ethanol through various methods. One of the methods currently used for dehydrating ethanol is the Molecular Sieve Absorption method with catalyst, in which zeolite is used to separate the water from the ethanol. Zeolite, in general, is a synthetic substance and is similar to aluminate and silicate (Alo4, Sio4) and has a complex crystal structure and can separate water molecules from the ethanol according to their size.

Ethanol Application

Today it is mostly used as bio fuel, and has been used since the 1970’s in Brazil and since 1990 in most European and American countries. Other applications include as raw material for producing various pure laboratory chemicals.

  • Extended Ethanol Application
  • Producing chemical solvents
  • Producing high octane fuel
  • Producing detergents
  • Producing medicine
  • Producing perfumes and colognes
  • Producing printing ink
  • Producing ethyl acetate
  • Producing ethylene glycol
  • Producing some foodstuff
  • Producing alcoholic drinks
  • Producing acetic acid for the food industry
